So you’re tired of spending your Saturday nights alone with the TV and a huge carton of chocolate ice cream. Now that you’ve decided to put yourself out there and meet some new people, here are some dating etiquette tips for you to remember. You’ll be a social butterfly in no time.

• Be presentable. It’s true. First impressions last, and your appearance says a lot about what kind of a person you are. Make sure you’ve taken a shower, that you smell good, and that unsightly body hairs are kept, well, out of sight.

• Be on time. Don’t make your date wait for you! It’s rude, and you don’t want to get off on the wrong foot, do you? Punctuality shows that you have concern for your date.

• Make it fun. Don’t bore your date to death with talk about work and all your achievements. Take a cue from his or her body language. Is he or she leaning forward? Does he or she make eye contact, or does it seem like he or she can’t wait to get out of the place?

• Listen. This is a game of give and take. You tell him or her about you, and he or she returns the favor. And please, don’t be offensive or use foul language.

• If you’re a guy, foot the bill. If you’re a girl, offer to split it.
